Dialect coach on 'Così'

After several gigs as dialect coach with the Seeing Place Theater, I’m very pleased to be working with a new theatre company, Australian Made Entertainment, on their inaugural production of Louis Nowra’s Aussie classic Così. The number of American actors playing Australian characters is so great that we have TWO dialect coaches!

Kickstarter campaign for 'Brewsie and Willie'

Gertrude Stein’s ‘Brewsie and Willie’, the independent feature I was thrilled to work on last year, is nearing release. A Kickstarter campaign to fund the remaining post-production costs is underway here.

Vershinin in 'Three Sisters' with The Seeing Place

March 9th to March 25th, 2012:

Currently playing the unhappily married and straying Colonel Vershinin in Brian Friel’s version of Chekhov’s masterpiece “Three Sisters” with the Seeing Place Theater.

Opening Friday March 9th at 7.30pm.

Tickets available here.

*** UPDATE *** – some reviews are up:

Daniela Thome is statuesque yet vulnerable as Olga and David Sedqwick charms as Vershinin. In fact, the tete a tete between Thome and Sedgwick as the show is nearing its end is the strongest moment of the performance.

The strength of this company is in its actors…The romantic frisson between Erin Cronican and David Sedgwick is palpable and intense.

A nod of recognition should also be given to standouts Brian Byus, David Sedgwick, and Justin Kress… Sedgwick’s Vershinin maintained a certain level of understated comedy throughout a good portion of the piece with a subtle humor that was much appreciated.

Feature film 'Gertrude Stein's Brewsie and Willie'

Performed in my first independent feature, a unique adaptation of the Gertrude Stein novella, “Brewsie and Willie”, directed by Rosalind Morris. I played an American G.I. in post-World War II France.

(‘Gertrude Stein’s Brewsie and Willie,’ directed by Rosalind Morris, Director of Photography, Milton Kam, Set Design Susan Zeeman Rogers, Lighting by Rocco de Villiers.)

'Scotch Kiss' with Seeing Place Theater

September 26 to October 9, 2011:

Played an Australian lawyer in Seeing Place Theater’s world premiere production, Scotch Kiss.

'Telephone Call for Francine Stein' at Workshop Theater Company

I’m currently appearing in a wonderful short play by Laurie Graff, under the brilliant direction of Brad Malow.

I play a philandering businessman in 1960s New York in this bittersweet love story in Telephone Call for Francine Stein; the play is part of the event I LAUGHED, I CRIED: Five Short Plays to Make You Ferklempt at the Workshop Theater Company.

'Standards of Decency 3' with Blue Coyote Theater Group

I’m about to start a run of the provocatively subtitled Standards of Decency 3 evening of short plays with the brilliant folks over at Blue Coyote Theater Group.

I’ve been a fan of their work for a while, so I’m psyched about this show!

'Dear Ruth' for Retro Productions

I immediately followed up Twelfth Night with the currently running Dear Ruth, with the award-winning company Retro Productions.

I’m playing the cantankerous father of a WWII-era New York family in this very funny comedy.

Tickets available through Ovation.

'Twelfth Night' with The Seeing Place Theater

I’m very excited to be playing Orsino in a unique production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

The company’s name comes from the Greek word theatron (“seeing/watching place”) from which we get “theatre”, and their ethos is that the audience should see events and relationships that are happening on stage, rather than being represented. So we are striving to be very simple and honest in our performances.

It should be a little different from the Shakespearean productions you’ve seen before…!

Tickets available through SmartTix.
